Cell Fix

Has anyone tried this yet. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WRX-S...spagenameZWDVW For the price it seems ok especially for lazy people like me.
Saves me the trip to autozone and the drilling part of plugs.

yeah... GSC put them on my car when i had it over there on Wednesday. Pretty standard fix i'd imagine and not worth $16 + shipping or whatever that auction is charging.

it's just the simple mechanical 02 fix that has numerous threads on the subject here. It works for some, but not others. It did not work for me, I had to buy the electronic 02 simulator. Also, there are clearance issues, just depends on which exhaust components you have and where the secondary 02 bung is welded on those components.

It worked for about 2 days and the cel light came back on. The Perrin o2 sim has done the trick for 2 years. No cel.

I am using that same set up with my Perrin Cat-delete and so far is working great. But you can find that same part in Pep Boy or Advance Auto for $3.99. They are basic spark plug anti-foulers. One thing I am watching is my gas mileage. Since those parts cover up the oxygen sensor and I imagine it might be giving the ecu a false reading and making the ecu run rich. but I really don't know. Warranton might know the answer to this.

I have designed a new one that will work on all Evo's no matter what exhaust components they have. There are no clearance issues with this one. It has the same function as two antifoulers, but is done using only one anti fouler. The two anti foulers wouldnt fit on my car, so I had to make something that would work. I might make some more if people are interested in them.

Iv had mine for about 3 months now and no cel yet. There is a clearance issue though. It hits the under body a little so I hate to say it but if you take a hammer and beat the body in just a tad it clears perfectly.

I was about to buy the Perrin fix, but after reading that the fix gets rid of CEL no matter what happens to your car, I decided to use the mechanical route. If for some reason my car throws a CEL I won't see it because the Perrin fix avoids it, not good.

I'm going on two years with this method and never a CEL. It's been my experience that the people who have had them precision drilled (the hole is perfectly true) have had little to no problems. I did have to use two though. I was going to play around with honing one without going all the way through. That should work with only one, as the sensor would fit inside just one without opening up the end.

I had this method on my 03 RSX Type-S and the CEL would come on once every other day or so. I would just shut it off and when I restarted it, it would be gone.

I'm not sure I'm reading your statement correctly, but the Perrin 02 simulator ONLY gets rid of the trouble code associated with the secondary 02 sensor. It's code PO139 I think. All other trouble codes and CEL functions will not be altered. You'll still get the CEL for other issues the car may have.

That's what I thought, but I read somewhere (it was a review) that it actually gets rid of all CELs. I have no experience with it, so I can't confirm. Maybe people using the Perrin fix can share if they got any other code (CEL) after installing the fix.

I have the Perrin, and by the way you wire the thing in, the ONLY CEL it can influence would be associated with the second 02 sensor. I haven't thrown any other CEL's since installing the Perrin, but I'm confident that's because my car hasn't had any problems to throw the CEL. But just based on the way it's wired in, it can't effect any other CEL's.

Yeah, i admit i'm lazy, but come to think of it if i do it myself that would be $8 for 2 plugs, $5 gas for trip to autozone, $6 for a couple of beer and time wasted instead of smooching my girl. Total = $19. If i buy it on e-bay it would only cost me $15.25 shipped to my place. Priceless.
