Boost gauge question!

I searched !!!!! And my gauge may or may not read accurate but whats the real way to determine this ? I want to raise the boost but not in away that i'll do damage! It LOOKS like it goes to 20-23 at times and yeah it tapers but how much more boost can i run ? I have only installed the jdm mr dv ,boost gauge! Mbc is not yet installed ! car is stock otherwise ! Oh gauge is the Defi w/ pod combo!

ok so first, i guess if you power up the gauge and it reads a perfect 0 (with nothing connected to boost line) you can assume its reading ok.

and i cant believe that you've searched and couldnt find a setting for how much boost you should be running. thats crazy. on 91 octane i wouldnt run much above 21 with a spike of 22/23, if you have 93 octane 22 with a spike to 23 should be ok.

My results from searching says 05's run 19 psi (stock) and i want to take it to 21 psi (my goal)and i knew what was safe to run already !And my gauge is 0 when the car is off ! Also during the search i came across a thread or two saying that regardless some gauges or most are off -1/+1 psi etc. so that brought my question on how is there a way to know for SURE what boost i'm running since boost gauges are usually off ! Don't flame me for asking questions after i "searched "

Searches don't show that 05s run 19psi stock. The official numbers say 20.3psi peak (3500rpm?) and 17psi taper (6500rpm). You shouldn't be hitting 23psi in stock form without an exhaust causing it.

Basiclly, if the needle of the gauge is exactly lined up with the 0 when the car is not on/rnning, its accurate, if its a little off, the your gauge would probably be a little off (ex. if the needle is an 1/8 of an inch lower then the 0, then when the needle points at 20psi it really at 18-19, depending on the gauge)

My blitz turbo timer has a digital boost gauge, and it helped when checking my Defi.

In cold weather did anyone think the bourdon tube in the gauge was cold (not flexible) and therefore read incorrectly high?
