Beware of coyotes!!

Left work at about 4am this morning after working 14 hours and ended up crashing into a tree. Came around a right turn when a coyote runs out in front of me. I was going about 40 mph around the turn when I saw it and rather than swerve I just pulled to the right a little.

A little too much apparently. The road drops off about 3 inches where it ends on the side and the front right wheel ended up dropping and catching the ridge causing my evo to yank to the right and head down a 15ft embankment lined with boulders 2x the size of basketballs and into a tree.

The front right fender and bumper are toast, at least one bent rim, cracked windshield, punctured gas tank, smashed exhaust/downpipe, dented up intercooler, and hood crumpled up. This is only the damage I could see at the time in the dark. There is actually a huge hole now where the fender and bumper use to be that peers right into the engine bay now. I didn't get hurt, but next time the coyote is toast.

Won't be able to find out further damage until next week when insurance and body shop come back to work, though I'm sure there is alot more damage to the undercarriage. I'm kinda hoping for a total loss cause I know car just won't be the same after this. Maybe time for a IX.

That's my latest mod. You havn't heard? Putting trees in your engine bay add like 20whp. JK. That's where my left front fender use to be. Sorry for the crappy pics. It was pitch black and all I had was the flash and interior lights to go by.

Stupid Coyotes.

That really sucks man. All that matters though is that you are ok. And you have insurance. Good luck.

Brother I feel you pain, they are all over the hills here. I rolled my 280z when I was 18 in a similar situation. At least you are okay. By the way was this the bastard? (Sorry, someone had to ask)

i smashed up my 04 silver evo when a 16 year old pulled out in front of me at an intersection! I got it fixed after a 9300 estimate then traded it in! I hit a deer with my 05Black evo got it fixed and then 4 weeks later, 3 weeks ago slid off the road to avoid another deer and took out mailboxes! Im in the process of having it fixed again!

Car will be mint with aftermarket Cwest front end and New Wheels of my choice this time around! After the deer was clocked i put a Seibon CF Hood on the car thank god its still mint!
I know wut its like man, good luck with whatever you so choose to do!

i hate damn animals on back roads, albeit they can save your driving record. If it is determined that you hit a deer or similar animal, the crash is not considered a collision, and therefore cant raise your premium. This happened to me with my m3, and when it was totaled i got the money and my premium was not increased.
