I gained 20 whp just by adding 101 octane fuel. No other adjustments or tuning.
You have to remember that the owner's manual calls for 93 octane, which we can't get around here. The car is likely pulling timing because of the crappy 91 octane. The Evo makes power with timing and by adding 101 octane, you're certainly not going to hurt things.

One other thing. I'm not sure where you live, but do not use the 100 octane aviation fuel over at Falcoln Field in Mesa. It's leaded, which isn't that big a deal if you don't have a cat, but for some reason the fuel robs timing. We tried tuning two different Evo's with that stuff and both of them turned out very poor.
