I have a Modded Evo VIII and I have an issue with only ONE constantly recurring CEL. It read's.....


"Idle Control, RPM High"


This was non existant during the summer, but ever since it got cold my idle is a lil higher I get this CEL while idleing. Could it be my idle control motor or even the TUNE (Flash) or is it just the weather?

disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 3 hours then hook it back up. and magic appears no more cel .

 

Nope, been there done that many a times. Now while driving I NEVER get CEL's. When I get to a light and idle, BAM, CEL. I only have one, and it is "Idle Control, RPM High".


My mechanic said that it MIGHT be my idle control motor which I believe is on the intake manifold or by it. He says Mitsu's have issues with these but not sure. Also run run 272 cams which for whatever reason Idle PERFECTLY during the summer warm months. As soon as it got cold, BAM high irratic idle and CEL.


Fix? Could it be my tune? I run an HKS intake as well.
