evo 8 hid bulb vs evo 9 hid bulb

Ok, need some help finding the right part number here.

We all know that evo 8 and evo 9's have different color bulbs.

But when you try to find the evo 8 bulbs, there is no difference between evo 8 and evo 9 bulb part number.

My body shop is confused, since they sent the evo 9 bulbs on my evo 8.

This is after giving Ed Voyle my Vin number.

So, if you could find the part number for both evo 8 and evo 9 hid bulb (hid d2s), you'll be helping a lot.

Thanks.

This is the number that you may encounter with the bulb.

MU 820005 - which according to Mitsu dealership is for all Evo HID bulbs

I think it is the just color of the tint on the projectors that make the 9 different....can anyone confirm or deny this?

the only downfall to purple color, higher number, say 9000k, is dimmer than a 6000k.. and yes i do believe its the tint..

The OEM bulbs are all the same, D2S Osram's. The projector changed for the IX but the bulb behind it is the same. I have pulled out both on the VIII and IX and replaced them, exact same part.

I 2nd the Europeanautosport.com HID bulb upgrade, I have the 5.8's and they are plain sick looking.

So why does the my new bulb in my 2003 headlight have a different color?

Here is the deal. Bodyshop ordered the drivers side headlights, change the bulb out, and the bulb is completely different color.

So you're telling me that my brand new 03 headlights have all of a suddent different tint on them?

You guys are 100% about the statements you're making or are you guys just guestimating?

Because I've seen it in my car and it's obvious difference.

Remember, the headlight is both 2003 clear (not black chrome evo9) chrome on it.

If the bulb is the same throughout, then that means my bodyshop is trying a fast one on me putting another set of bulb in there.

since they killed my new headlight bulb on the drivers side when they took the bulb out (touched the bulb).

ok, the bulb looks just like the evo 9 bulbs.

All I hang out is evo owners, i know what color their bulbs are and what mine looks like.

they don't vary from almost blue to greenish tint.

let me go take some pictures real quick.

I took my car home from the bodyshop, cause they screwed up on everything. Even manage to break my drivers side seat.

ok, drivers side is the new bulb, right side is the old bulb.

If the glare wasn't so bad, you could see obviously see the difference in color.

Look at the ground. See how different the color is? It's not old age, it's really different once you see it in person.

ok, on this picture, there is evo 9, grey between 2 red evo's on the right side of this picture.

Now look at the ground, you could see a faint difference between evo 9 and evo 8 relection. I mean, in real life, it's completely different.

The blue evo's got the 8000 or 9000k purple color hid.
