New Evo 9s come with special "break in" oil?
Back when I bought my S2000 I was told that I shouldn't change the oil early around the 1k mark like I would normally do because the car came from the factory with special oil in the motor formulated for assisting the break in process. Anybody know if this is the case with the new Evo 9's?
I doubt its break-in oil, but it is probably thicker just from all tiny pieces of metal the may wear during break in. There shouldnt be any large chunks or anything, I think thats why they dont say to change it until 3500 or whatever. I plan on changing mine at 1000 or maybe 1500... I didnt want to put dino oil in because I wanted to get into boost with it in the car.
I had mine change at 1500 miles just for Peace of mind. It was free, so figured why not. As for break in oil, don't know. My srt 4 came with it, but I believe it was just tinted to help diagnose any leaks on a new engine.
