Unhappy HELP!!!.....my ACD stoped working!

Ok, so by accident (don't ask) my ACD ECU was unplugged and taken out of my car. After putting it back in my ACD lights will not go on and my Anti-lock light goes on and off. I found a ground that was not connected so i fixed that but it still didnt fix the problem. I have read up on the ACD and people say how if the ACD is bad that all 3 lights stay on. Since mine are off....I dont know whats going on. If anyone knows what is wrong and/or how to fix it please let me know, thanks everyone!

And warranty is out of the picture b/c mods...

did you try yanking one of the battery cables to reset the whole car?

it might just need "rebooted".

I dont think your mods listed would void ur warranty on the ACD.

sorry that list is old, AEM EMS, HKS 272s, TurboTrix tune, Mitz would laugh in my face. And disconnecting the battery was the first thing I did.

Run a search under Magnason Moss Warranty Act. After reading this, strap on a set of ***** and take your car to the dealer and have them fix it.

Magnuson Moss act won't help. You're going to have to either figure a way how to get it to work, or pay to have it fixed....doesn't mean you HAVE to go to the dealer though.

TBE, MBC and a flash will void your warranty at most dealerships FYI.

Just go to the dealer, if they are reasonable at all they'll fix the problem. If not find another dealer.

Your Post

Well, I am assuming that you pulled the neg and the poss battery terminals when you "accidentially" pulled this computer out. If not, you may have fried something. Second, this computer if I am not mistakein "piggybacks" off the main ECU, even if they are in separate areas. Everything in cars now a days has a fuse for electronic ECU's, so what I would do, is pull the battery....then, dissconnect the computer you took out....pull the fuse for the ACD and the Main ECU, wait a couple of minutes...then, connect the computers back, THEN put the fuses back in THEN but the batter back on, NEG first, then POSS. This should reset your whole system. If it still doesn't work, then I am afraid you did a major Boo boo.

maybe that's the problem, he's using a AEM EMS and not the oem ECU.

I'll have to try that, and it was doing it before the EMS.

i think the ACD ecu is separate from the main ECU, unless the 05 EVO has CAN (controlled area network),by federal law all cars will have to be equipped in '07

soon as you ripped your catalytic converter out, you've are offender of federal law.

Magnuson Moss act doesn't apply to cars that's federally illegal.

anyway, I would take the thing out again, re-install, make sure every wire is tapped in.

make sure when you do this the battery is disconnected, and see what happens.

I believe ACD is controlled by ECU.
