What should i know when purchasing wheels?

Im in the market for some wheels. Not some high end set but some cheap ones. What do i need to know? What is the bolt pattern and offset required to clear the brakes? I lowered my car with tein stechs. On the stock wheels and tires i can fit 1 finger thru the fender and tire gap. I want to go with 18x8 or 18x8.5 with a lip. What size of tire do yall recomend to keep the stance i already have. Remember stock tires are 235-45-17. Thanks for any help. If anyone has some wheels you want to get rid of, I might be interested. Send me pm with pic and price.

you could check out tirerack.com and find a size that will fit your car with a specific tire size also

that is what i usually did when i bought different wheels so i didn't have to worry about problems with the speedometer being off

Putting cheap wheels on an evo is like wearing an Armani suit with flip flops.

Just save and buy something nice, you'll be glad you did.

One Option:
We have a set of Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 models that are available.
These are flat race black with the embossed Team Dynamic Logos- not just decals.
New these are about $230 a piece, the set of 4 is only $600.
They are almost perfect with one slight nick on one rim.

17x8 + 38 offset....these weigh 18.9 lbs and look very similar to the FQ-400 and are perfectly matched to the OEM stock Advan AO46.
-These are about 6 months old w/ 4K miles.

Another option is the 5-Zigen FN01R-C, which are available in 17 or 18 inch.

If your car is primarily used for the street you may want to reconsider 18 inch rims due to ride quality, potential rim damage, added tire cost and fender rub issues. This is especially important since you have the Tein system which are damped agressively.

Hope this helps, Kirk

Thanks for the info. Have any of you tried spacers to make wheels fit? I like the HPevo wheels but i was told they dont fit due to the brakes.
