Question Thinking of buying 03

Hay guys thanks for your help on my last thread R32 for an Evo. I got several loans approved, but I am not spending $650 to $725 a month for a car .
I found an 03, and its blue. I don't really care for the color (I wanted white) but when your buying used, well you you know.
So here is the deal, it has 13,500 miles on it. Did the 03's have an problems with them? Someone told me they overheated, and had tranny problems . Also is the switch for the diff. control important. Here is the link if you want to see the car. I am going monday to check it out.

Thanks for your help

I wouldn't pay 25k for a used 03. I'm pretty sure you could get a brand new EVO9 RS for like what 26 or 27?

I also wouldn't buy a used EVO but that's just me... If I was going to it would definately be an 05.

Used EVO

I bought my evo used in October of 05' Its an 04' Apex Silver with Hid super clean with 8,500 miles and I paid $25,995. If had it do again I would either get an 05' or a new MR.

Its the cheapest I have found, maybe they will deal on it. But 25k seems to be the going rate.

The RS doesn't have a radio, rear spoiler, ABS, A/C, or power anything does it

You know what i have a 03 for over a year and some i bought it new i have 47k on it yes thats right a lil over a year 47k i buy cars to drive not to baby. The only problem ive have with the car was that the clutch went out same time with the transfercase and that was at 42k there are no overheating problems thats a bunch of bull. 03 are the way to go why because ecu only has 2 maps vs the 04's and up the 9's have 6 maps man all that tuneing . If your going to buy the car just to say your going to have a evo your better off with a 04-05 there got a lil more topend stock with the 10.5 hotside and the acd crap. If your planing on keeping the car and makeing it a track car 03 is the way to go much more simple to work with dont have to deal with the many maps and acd and the other lil things that make it so call better over the 03.

Im around 400+ hp and i daily drive it and i beat on it everyday without and problems. But this is what i think you do whatever you want to do good luck.

I am not buying the car to say I have one. I have always wanted this car, It is cheaper to mod than a vw, plus I am just sick of the whole vw thing. You must not have read my resent thread but wanted to sell the R. But thaxs for clearing up the overheating concern for me

I bought my 03' for $20K, and I absolutely love the car. I have owned quite a few cars and this is by far the best purchase I've made.

I dont think you should do it. If you can you should get either an 05 or 06. I have an 03 and would like to upgrade, but cant let go of the car because of the amount of money and time I have spent upgrading. Plus I do love the car and it still puts a smile on my face everytime I drive.

03' Evo

I know what is like with the VW thing traded in a 2004.5 GLI and not looking back if you go with an 03' I think you can get a better price.

25k for an 03 is absurd. It's a 3-yr-old car that was only 28-30k new. You can get a brand new 05 for close to that much, and the 05s are much, MUCH better. Buying a used Evo and paying that much for one that's 3 years old is sheer lunacy.
