How much power does each pound of boost give
how much hp does each pound of boost give?
I hear about 5whp on most cars, but i was just wondering cause when i installed my mbc it made so much of a difference.
cheers

hard to measure!
every level of boost means different FR.
I guess you can be the first to dyno every lb tuned and let us know.
stock evo average = (03-05) 235 hp on mustang
22psi, 264/272 cams, f rail, cam gears, turbo back, no cat, tune and 92 = an aditional 100 hp with a really safe tune from AMS for me (and some tweek from me)
Then again I sold my car and bought a slower one.

it depends, especially the higher the boost and the more mods you have. 24#'s on stock exhaust and stock timing will be crazy different than 24#'s with TBE and fuel/timing corrections. According to your mods, you don't have any type of fuel or timing control. 5 hp per # of boost may be about right for your setup. 10 hp per # over stock isn't hard to do with the supporting mods, or even more.
Generally, it's 10hp per psi increase. The MBC doesn't really make a big difference on 05/06s, since we already run 20psi from the factory, but the MBC helps to remove the forced taper down to 16psi like the stock BCS. However, when adding exhaust mods BEFORE an MBC (bad boy), the IX ECU apparently is able to LOWER boost accordingly to counteract the increase in exhaust flow. With the MBC, you now override the ECU's ability to lower the boost, so you got back all that power that you originally should have gained with the exhaust cutout.
Typically, though, with no other change, 1psi=10hp.
