The battle cry of those with lesser performing cars is always "fast but ugly". The RX-8 guys live by it. Same with the 350Z guys and many of the M3 guys. It's OK. If you're spending more time looking at your car from the outside then you spend time in the driver's seat...well then you bought the wrong car.

I thought seriously about an R32 b4 making the right choice. I Feel sorry for the R32 owners that VW is actually coming out with a new R32 thats going to make it to america alot sooner than they had hoped/expected ::R32 rarity flies out nearest window::

I saw R32 tradad for EVO and my first thought was that you traded a skyline. I feel better knowing it was only a Golf. I love my EVO, but I dont know that I would trade a skyline (even an R32) for it.

+1

Styling is a matter of opinion, to me the EVO is a very attractive car, and more attractive than a R32, then again, I can understand why others would choose the styling of the R32 over the EVO. Still the R32 isn't nothing special styling wise. Now the interior is very nice, but then again so is my A4 Audi, and what that lasted me a couple of months before I decided great interior or not, this car f*cken slow. The point is the EVO IX MR is definitly an upgraded, no car is perfect, all cars have there advantages and disadvantages. If some people like the interior and exterior styling and the instant throttle response of a NA V6 R32 then so be it. Still a lot of people like the faster acceleration, sharper handling, stronger braking, more agressive styling, and all around awesome performance of the EVO.

no matter how much i love my evo, and i love how fast ir is, my first love will always be the golf 4. and the r32 is just a stock factory modified golf 4. the only thing is, german = cha-ching $. if i had the money i would have an r32 full weight with the hpa twin turbo or the epa kits. but **** the hpa kit is 25,000 . it will do over 200mph though which is sick. so for now the evo has it beat in every aspect.

I respect you for doing what you did. I am tring to do the same. VW Vortex people are f-ing *******s. They think there **** doesn' stink, congrats on the Evo mybe I will have mine soon. If you don't mind me asking, did you sell the R or trade in. And what did they give you for it? The local mitsu dealer offered me $24k.

I left VAG for my Evo too. Had a tough time doing it, but I did. The Evo is also my first Asian car. I love this thing more and more every day, and since you have the IX you're definitely golden.

I considered the R32 for a split-second, but it's WAY too heavy. WAY too fluffy for me. You won't miss that fluff if you haven't already noticed.

No, VWs are for those that can't or won't afford Audi. BMW is a whole nuther league (look at my previous rides). I cruised briefly for an R32, thought the seats were nice, but the whole car felt "wrong", kind of that sitting in a bucket feeling like the Subies - not a good command driving position IMO. VWs are always a little strange in the handling department, more consumer oriented than the Evo, IMO. Very nice interior I thought, just like the A4s. I never looked at one again when I tore one up on the highway with my WRX wagon (it was running 2 more psi than stock, everything else was OEM at the time).

I see more R32s here in San Diego than I do Evos....then again I NEVER see a Civic either
