Fuel Pump limitation

Does the stock fuel pump provide enough fuel for 22psi peak and 18 red line?

Thanks

That is dangerous, the Walbro costs less than $100 and takes 20 minutes to install, but you will need to tune for it. What type of EMS are you running?

It really depends on your other mods - the stocl pump is generally capable of flowing enough fuel for at least 325 whp

However, I suggest the walbro fuel pump as an upgrade on all evos getting a flash tune as the walbro pump has been much more stable and safe

I have seen several stock pumps fail by suddenly producing a lower flow rate when hot - a very dangerous condition

ANYONE doing mods on a evo 8 should really do the fuel pump

BTW - evo IX does not need a pump upgrade with stage 1 and 2 - its a new pump which flows more

Agreed..

I have experienced this. Previously I had a full TBE and a tune but no upgraded pump. My EGTs would be fine on the street -- peaking at about 875C. However on the track I found that after about 5 laps I would suddenly see a spike up to 975+. A Walboro solved this problem.

The is for my 03 VIII. I am not sure what pump came on the VII.
Anyone know?

An upgraded pump is so cheap/easy/effective. It seems like a no-brainer for me. I say go for it.
