Does the Evo ever feel like FWD (Front Wheel Drive)?

I'm mainly concerned with normal, everyday commuter type shifting/driving. Does it ever feel like FWD?

It often feels like FWD. the car has a 60/40 weight split and a tendency to understeer. IF you are used to FWD vehicles you'll feel right at home.

Nope plain and simple. All my cars have been fwd and by far awd is different. You cant lose the rear end on a fwd car like on an EVO. And in rainy weather the traction is 100X better

I notice that at the very instant the tires let go it pushes (like FWD). This is only for a split second until the AWD sorts itself out.

it feels like front wheel drive until the tail pulls out in a corner and you start to get scared and excited at the same time

never had it plough due to acceleration though, so upon acceleration it does not feel lif FWD

Yes, it is like FWD. The car pushes like a FWD car and reacts to inputs similarly. You can get the rear out a little on throttle but the car recovers itself and goes back to feeling like FWD.

Don't get me wrong, FWD is not bad.. its just FWD.

Even in well sorted FWD cars you can get negative things like torque steer, pushing through corners, and driving a high HP FWD car in winter can be a total pain, with the Evo you get none of those negatives. It simply feels like an AWD car that understeers less that just about any other AWD car on the planet. If you're getting any really noticeable understeer then you're not driving it like an AWD car should be driven or you've managed to screw up your suspension.
