Boost gauge failure?

As I was in 5th gear on the highway I mashed the pedal and boost goes to 20 lbs. and holds pretty well and all of a sudden the gauge goes right to zero and stays there the whole time. Its an Autometer(yes I read that you guys don't like the brand) sport comp and it came with the car when I bought it. I'm thinkin either the gauge failed or boost line popped out? I'll have to check the gauge again tomorrow morning on the way to work. Anyway, what should I check for first? I'm still not familiar with where the boost line is hooked up to. I did read that it is located somewhere on the intake manifold.

Youll see a line going through the fire wall probably on the left of the engine (your left staring at the motor). Trace it from there to the gauge if not get a new one Im on my second autometer already. Got it replaced for free. If not I would have bought a Defi.

i would check the connection behind the gauge because those little brass fittings that go over the nylon hose and in between the female and male fittings tend to get smashed and cut through the nylon tubing.

Problem solved! It appears that the hose that runs from the "T" fitting to the intake manifold popped out. Reconnected it and gauge is working fine now!

^Yep, mine did the exact same thing. Bastard popped off and had me wondering for a minute. Checked it out and it was the same thing 03SilvaEvo described. Common to Autometer maybe?
