brand new IX, speedometer problem?

Had mine for one week now and I just noticed this tonight. When the car gets rolling from complete stop the speedometer stays at 0 mph for about 4 seconds then the needle catches up to the correct speed. This is not normal is it?

Mine does that too. It stays at 0 mph from a slow rolling start.

Most cars do that, not just the Evo. Look closely at your speedo. I bet it jumps from 0 to about 10 mph with almost no change in needle angle. Hence, it won't start reading till about 10 mph.

hmm...my other cars don't do that but i guess its normal. its not just slow starts though. the needle doesn't start moving for several seconds no matter what speed i am at. its weird to see the needle not move then all of a sudden it jumps to like 40mph.

thanks for the reply guys.

Okay, that sounds like a problem. Get it fixed under warranty.
