I would get a tune asap. I think the car is going to run kinda crappy with cams on no tune.

Personally I would stick with the MBC vs the EBC...less hassle and the MBC will hold the boost better in most cases.

Id also just stick with the MBC. Easy, cheap, effective. You CAN drive the car with the cams in it untuned, but I really wouldnt boost much with them, esp WOT. I had my cams installed at Pruven and while I was waiting for my tune (Al was coming at 1pm, they finished the cams at noon), I asked to go get some food, they said it was fine, just dont beat on it!

+1 to that keep the MBC, no need for the EBC

I definately like my AVCR vs my old in cockpit hallman boost controller.. especially in autox, in lower gears I can dial in the EBC to hit higher boost levels.. plus running two maps that you can switch in a second is very nice... let not forget valet mode. It also doubles as a boost gauge.. so with the mbc, your going to need boost gauge + mbc.. vs just the ebc.. the ebc is actually cheaper and your getting alot more options.

Is it possible to use the MBC to set the upper limit in case the EBC fails? So you set the MBC at like 25 psi and let the EBC control boost from 22-25 psi depending on the octane your using.

You should go to another shop for your things if they said MBC is bad for Evo's.

Yes you don't need a BC for cams. They won't raise the boost as far as I know. Wasn't a problem for me. Do you have a boost gauge?

You dont have to install the cams and boost controller at the same time. Lemme ask, how does your car run with the intake and no flash?
