A good lesson learned in my Yellow EVO...
A good lesson learned in my Yellow EVO...
Hey boys & girls...here's a lesson you should heed as well...
I was driving down to Charlottesville today along Rt. 29...which is notorious for state troopers. It's also a beautiful drive with rolling hills through Virginia. Note: I'm still breaking in my Lightning Yellow EVO (300 miles).
I was sitting up front at a red light, and I really wanted to let the car go at green. My spidey sense warned me not to...so I just eased up to about 70mph (in a 55mph zone) in no time. I merged over to the right lane and looked in my left rear view mirror to find a state trooper 2 cars back...I didn't even see him at the red light...darn wing gets in the way of everything
I've already slowed to about 55mph, and the trooper pulls right behind me and tails me for about 4 miles. I was kinda getting nervous, and he just switches lanes and drives away. Then I felt pissed for being harassed!
Lesson: look around before you get the urge to drag this machine!
Also, is it just me or does the yellow paint really attract cops
??? What a stereotype?!!!
Rev on (with caution),

You are definetly right on the wing blocking the view some.
glad you didn't get a ticket but come on have you never heard of arrest me red or yellow
. You can see a yellow car miles away that is why I opted for silver I might not get as noticed by people but I also wont get as much attention from the cops either. Good luck

From: Why do they always call the Evo the Dark Side?
29 is indeed a nice road. Esp. since every once in a while you get a stoplight fly out of
The most fun is when you are going from 250N to 64 west and (right near C-ville) and you have to shoot across 250 as there are 2 lanes of cars headed in your direction at 60 mph. That's a real world situation where the AWD launch helps
You can enjoy it at 5 over though, just roll the windows down and enjoy the scenery
I know at least a couple people who have gotten tickets there, so I'm scared to do more than about 63...

There is a place on 29 just north of IIHS (Ruckersville) where the cops always sit in the median by a set of trees. Never speed through there.
I really miss Charlottesville and all the nice driving there. I will also miss US 250 between Staunton and West VA. Nothing like 40 miles of mountains.
Here in Houston we have nothing anywhere near that.

Heh heh... I live in Northern VA and drive down to Cville for school (UVa). I'm on 29 ALL THE TIME. And lemme tell you, I hate that road!
I've had some pretty bad experiences with cops on 29.. not so much the ones hiding in the hilly areas behind trees in the median, but more so the ones at night who drive with their lights off. Worst case was when I got a ticket (this wasn't even in my Evo.. it was in a '87 Volvo) for doing something like 8mph over. Actually, mostly all the cops patrolling or camping out around the Culpeper area are so ****. I've learned to just drive the speed limit exactly, because I'm no longer willing to take the chance in my Evo.
BTW, the Cville Mitsu has a White Evo, large wing but I dunno about the sunroof. It's up for grabs if anyone is interested, sticker price too.
