Transmission noise.
Well i just came back from my 1 month long vacation. started up the evo.. and it just barely turned over (forgot to take off the - battery terminal).. anywho.. now, when i drive it, it makes a whining/humming noise right at round 2.5k rpm's in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear.. while the clutch is fully let out and cruzing at the low RPM.. i have an exedy twin plate clutch and flywheel.. just fyi.. any ideas as to what it could be? i already checked the tranny and diff fluids and they are fine.. also the car/transmission feels fine under boost and driving.. the sound is just friggin annoying!
if you have any idea as to what it could be.. let me know
thanks

thanks.. to most of you.. i had the t-case fluid changed.. diaqueen fluid..have redline full synthetic in the tranny and diff.. changed less than 2k miles ago.. still makes the noise.. car feels strong still.. i'm thinking maybe the left front wheel bearing? what does anyone think about that?
i doubt that's the problem.. but im just trying to make some sense of waht's going on.. i figure it COULD be the transmission.. but i just had the fluid changed! anyway let me know

My car whines and the gears growl with reverse torch (when wheels put power to the engine) and I only have 5k miles on mine with a stock clutch (and stock everything). But I had a mechanic take a spin in the car and he said it's just normal "gear growl".
At first I was convinced it sounded worse after my first oil change (2,500k) but then I realized that as the engine breaks in... it seems to get a bit louder. I think the oil change was just a coincidence. After about 3k... the car started to sound more like a Mustang than a ricer. But I guess that's just how it is.

However, as I said before, the Twin does seem to make more noise in all gears and especially when decelerating.
