question for evo IX owners

i was wondering if any of you evo IX owners ever had any problems with your tranny or clutch? i'm in the process of getting one and i would like to know if there are any problems, most likely i will be pushing the car hard and *puts flame suit on* do some ocassional drag racing.
thanks.

I haven't had any problems in my IX and I've been making close to 300whp since about 1500 miles (have about 2100 miles right now). Did I mention that I learned how to drive stick in this car lol? However, I don't launch my car and probably never will. If you plan on drag racing quite a bit, expect to replace the stocker.

If this is your first AWD car and you have never launched dsms or any awd platform you will most probably need to replace the clutch depending on how often you launch your car.

The stock clutch can take the abuse of drag style launches, if modulated correctly. A vender on evom has over 400whp and has over 120+ launches on his stock clutch, while some newbie members have replaced their clutches in 5k while making stock power.

Usually it's the driver and not the car. What kind of experience do you have as far as performance cars?

Just a little issue with shifting into 3rd, if shifting slow, it's fine, shifting a little quick, you feel a little grind.

i have a good amount of experience. this will be my first awd car, but it wont be my first time driving one. i'm able to launch sti's with no problems. but like i said before, i will be drag racing OCASIONALLY. i' m intending to drive the car the way it's meant to be driven.
thanks everyone for your input.

i used to have an VIII now i have a IX and i beat on both of them hard and never had any problems other than they are noisy. I don't launch often but i beat through the gears as fast and hard as I can all the time.
