weird thumping noise

My car has this weird clunking noise at low speeds. The sound isnt loud but you can hear this low hollow clunk sound when the roads are uneven. Not sure if its the suspension but it seems like its coming from the bottom of the car. anyone else experience this?

I have something like this, it sounds like it's coming from the front right tire well area on mine. I took of the wheel and did a visual inspection and everything looked fine. I'm taking it in for service next week, because it's gotten prgressively more frequent over the last two weeks. oodly enough i'll be driving my friends STI while it's in for service since he'll be on vacation. Funny how things work out.

what bother's me most about the noise is that it's not easily reproducable, it's semi random, and that annoys me when trying to figure out a problem.

+1 BTW did you change new coilovers or other parts for the noise to appear? This noise started after after 1 week I had my twin clutch installed. Could it be the clutch? ...I dont know but the sound is killing me.

Check swaybar links, if the coilovers are ok.

Hey Derek, is your clutch pedal still on the floor? I would say something with the clutch, but I am not sure what!

yea its stuck to the floor. lol j/k We raised it up about 2 inches so right now its fine. When my car sits for a period of time my clutch pedal drops down closer to the floor about 2 inches and I just use my foot to hook it back up.

I didn't change any parts at all. It's winter and there's lots more pot holes than normal so it could have been caused by awful road conditions.

I'll have to play with clutch in/out points and see if I can figure out under exactly what conditions the car will make the noise. Hopefully I'll be able to do this by the time I go in for the service.

Hey homeboy! If your pedal drops to the floor if it sits for a while, you have AIR in the system, which will wear out your clutch fast!!! Re-bleed it. In the USA, our clutch pedals are made for your foot to "grab" one side only!! The top of the pedal! Quit wearing sandals so you can hook a toe under the pedal and raise it up!!!

My 2c Derek, re-bleed.
