I will wait for the 07 IX MR and buy one before the debut the "X"
My car is just about paid off and I will keep my VIII and then have the IX MR I've always wanted. I can't find any reason to trade my VIII in for anything else, or even part with it.

 

I can't believe you are all putting your eggs in one basket. I think that the X will most definitely disapoint the performance lovers. I think it will be 'dumbed down' for the masses. But whatever, it's up to you all, it's your $.

I traded in my '03 for a IX MR and dig it. I'm just planning ahead. I wanted to get one of the last iterations on this chassis. When the next chassis hits, they'll possibly use it for a few years and 2 or 3 generations of Evos. I really hope the next Evo isn't going to be designed more for the masses. If they stray from their motorsport heritage, the Evo will no longer be a purpose-built driver's car, but more of a Grand Touring sedan. So my plan is to wait it out and hope that it's done right and let refine it and pick up an XI or XII toward the tail end of that chassis run.

 

I agree with others that said "03/04 8 for the IX". A lot to get for some dollars. It is kinda the reason I traded in my '03 to the '05 8. ACD, turbo, new tires, clutch, better warranty, etc (warranty only if they honor it ;-)
