stock ecu ??
stock ecu ??
i would like to know how much does a stock ecu usually costs ?..
cuz sending my ecu to USA will take time even two to three weeks ..
so i might be gettin a stock ecu and send the other for a tune .. also for the time bein as i am collecting money ... i will use a s-afcII for tunning ..
with the mods in signature .. + s-afcII how much whp should i expect on my evo
we are on 91 octane "sorry for asking about whp power because we don't have a awd dyno in the whole country"

With the mods in your signature, you don't need a reflash at all. I would definitely stick with the AFC and get a competent tuner to tune it if you don't have a lot of knowledge yourself. There are Evos running around with similar mods making 325whp on an AFC on crappy 91 octane california gas.
There is some misinformation in this thread.
The ECU doesn’t get converted to work with the immobilizer it is the other way round. The immobilizer needs to be setup to work with the ECU and is supposed to be a pain in the neck.
This means that if you go to the dealership to get the second ECU working then you will need to do the same thing when you get the original ECU back.
Your other option is to buy both the immobilizer and the ECU and swap both. I am, however, unsure of the difficulty and cost.
Your best bet would be to use your ECU. Try and send it in when you are going on vacation or are planning to have the car in the shop for some time.
Another option would be to go with a higher quality piggy back such as an XEDE. You can download standard maps depending on your mods and also tweak it yourself. Vishnu has a great sale going on right now.

Of course you could also go full stand alone. This, however, would require a fair amount of setup and ideally someone in your area to help.
Good luck,
