Subwoofer location question

i was jsut wondering if anyone attempted to put an 8" subwoofer's under the front seats...there is so much room and i'm gonna go to a shop to see if it can be done, has anyone done this to save trunk space? i would assume it would sound a little louder than having it in the trunk since its right there

cheers

there are a couple slim line subs on the market now. pioneer is releasing one, earthquake has their sws line( i have these in my truck under the rear seat and they are decent) and blaupunkt has their own line.

i havnt had a chance to check out the pioneers, but between the blau's and the earthquakes, the earthquakes are much better/more slim.

mounting depth is 3 inches on the 8's iirc and just under 4 for the 10's.

well one thing you gotta remember, is that you'll need an enclosure. with out an enclosure those subs will sound like ****.

also, your going to have the amp the subs, so you'll be running some wires into your trunk where your amp is most likely going to be.

only good thing about have a sub under your seat is that, girls will totally enjoy it haha.

the enclosure has to be built to the speaker makers specs to get any decent sound

Check out elemental design subs the Eu-700, they are perfect for limited about of air space and will pack a punch in overall sound quality. Check out their web page; www.edesignaudio.com and check out the install showcarse section. there is a photo there of a sub box with 3 Eu700 designed to fit directly in the spare tire well. Its hard to explain, but go check it out, you will see what I am talking about.

I just attached the photo, chek it out. this might work for you.
