dunno, maybe 5~ 10 WHP as peak but I am sure it has serious power under the curve. Plus the sales guy (which was very nice) told me that the water lines inside the block are different than the 8. they are redesigned and that makes her more **** to detonation.. Can some one confirm on this?

I agree, the IX is a better car stock for stock, i like the way my IX pulls...It pulls hard for a stock car. I still think the evo VIII is a hot car though, my buddy has a red VIII MR and that thing is beautiful.

Well faster YES. MUCH faster..

Better I will not know.. No idea.. Same block after all.

Its weird because they are very similar but feel very different ( 8 and 9). Hard to explain.

I thought it was the oil lines, but yes they did change some aspects of the block to make it more detonation resistant. They revised the piston ring design to decrease oil consumption as well.

Nope just the rs, and the mr. Bsically they did this because the IX has a sunroof option, and needs the extra strength.

RS 3219

GSR 3263 [3338] <---Sunroof

MR 3285

Between the MR and the RS Its about the same. 66 Lbs, is not going to change a 1/4 mile time. So the RS is NOT Faster than the MR.

http://www.ssmoparmuscle.com/speedcomp.htm

The link Above ^^^^^^ has times for 1/4 mile runs. Dont know if its accurate or not. Just found it browsing...It claims the MR is faster than the RS.

Also the MIVEC is also a Difference you guyz didnt mention, it also has a Role in this Drama...

Maybe the IX you saw dynoed only 5 to 10WHP higher, but others have hit numbers much higher, like 15-20WHP. Not all IXs are the same, but there are some that are making a noticeable difference in power.
