That's why I devised a stealth cover to go where the faceplate fits.

Anyway, it's just not fair to imply that the victim is at fault for having a nice HU... Hell, the EVO itself is an attraction to thieves. Does that mean that it's your fault if somebody breaks into it or steals it?
I admit that when my Camry got broken into a few years back it was my fault for leaving my CDs visible in a shady neighborhood.

It's never the victim's fault for having their car broken into. Maybe some extra precautions could have been met, but at the end of the day they were robbed. Conphuzed, you didn't leave you cd's on the street next to your car, they were in it.

that's f'd up.

it's not like this guy didn't lock his doors or something. I'm putting a nice HU in tomorrow, along with a bunch of other alpine goodies. If it gets stolen at some point I'll be pretty angry, take pics and post so everyone can be angry at the theives with me.

If you do the Alpine HU, you might be able to do something like this:

you need the alarm I had: had a 2 way pager, backup batter, proximity sensor, hood pop switch, mercury switch, and was sensitive as hell. Now granted i'm sure there are thieves out there that can get around all that, but those guys woulda broken your window and you woulda came running out after them before they knew what happened

You are right. An alarm is the next thing I'm going to have installed. I just want a simple alarm that will make noise when the doors are opened or the car is tampered with.... Ideally, the alarm should be able to be armed without locking the doors... I'd just as soon keep the original keyless entry and be able to arm the alarm while leaving the doors unlocked.... I rather they open the door than bust a windiow....

All that blood gave me a wicked idea:

Figure out where (in removing the radio) you have to stick your hand into the console to unplug or remove screws, and strategically screw in some hidden razor blades. So next time someone is high on crack (or even adrenalin from breaking in to your car) they’ll cram their hand in the console and get cut up pretty bad before they figure out what’s going on. If the blades are sharp enough (think surgical steel), they’d do some serious damage before they realized they were bleeding to death.

Just warn anyone who works on your car!
