Dewinging an EVO

Hey i was just wondering if any of you dewinged your evo and noticed any difference in the handling. I plan to do track racing but at the same time i hoping to go for the OZ rally sleeper look. Plus the wing makes it harder to see cops in my rearview. Suggestions are appreciated.

4 Bolts on the inside of the trunk and it comes off.

I would just find a decent carbon fiber trunk and keep the stock with wing in your garage (for backup or future re-sale).

I dewinged my VIII. I have a silver '05. Ordered an RS trunk and had it painted to match the car. Definitely helps with seeing out the back, but it does feel looser in the rear during 100+ MPH sweepers. However, I have stock suspension. Lowering the car a touch might offset some of that. I'd also suggest keeping the wing just in case you decide that the handling without it is not up to snuff.

How much looser do you think it feels? does it get scary or feel unbalanced? or could it be a psychological thing? I would love to get rid of my wing but I am pretty adament about not touching my suspension...if i did i shoulda bought a 8.

On another note, what exactly is the GSR? is that just another term for evo8?

Thanks alot for your help
