HAHAHA i was about to mention that.....man mitsu is doing good we even have the evo 11 now when the evo 10 is not even finalized yet.....

 

yea the basic GSRs dont come with HIDS. i would think youd be better off go aftermarket with a brighter output. the stock HIDS are sorta mild looking. nothing that fancy.

 

aftermarket HID kits on a halogen projector (that come stock on non-SSL EVO IX's) are only good for brighter output. if you don't mind blinding others and having hot spots, then that's your best/cheapest option. i went and got HID headlights from a SSL, and got an OEM kit for cleanliness.

even though the non-SSL EVO IX has a cut-off and whatever, it's NOT HID's. do not be fooled.

 

i really wish they could have fogs and hids without having to buy the ssl package, and they even changed the wing to plastic pillars. it makes sense because they wanted to make major improvements to the ix such as the variable valve timing and minor changes such as the better seats and steering wheel/pedals without having to increase the overall price drastically. i would rather have the base ix than the viii with ssl because for the price it's more than worth it.

 

" nothing that fancy."... i think they(HIDs) look pretty damn fancy IMO.. they are bright.. and the car looks/sounds awesome comin down the street at night.. even in stock form..

 

They're just projector styled lenses with Halogens inside. trust me i have one. =P

 

dang it why can't mitsu just be like everybody else and come with cruise control and trunk release and hid's.....

my freaking 1991 mr2 turbo has cruise control (still works after 15 yrs btw) for pete's sake...

oh well, the Evo is still my next car

Are you talking remote trunk release ? because I have trunk release from inside the car and wish it had a lock on it like my honda. Remote trunk release would be really nice. Ive got that on my wifes 05 accord

DO NOT GET SSL PACKAGE! not worth it for just HID's. that was exactly the reason i bought my 05 8 with SSL. should've spent 500 on after markt HID and the 2500 on MODS. TRUST ME DO NOT DO IT! I WILL SHED ANOTHER TEAR FOR THIS USELESS OPTION.
