Cool review: evo VIII vs. dodge stealth twin turbo

well, ive had my evo for a about 11 days now, but for 8 of them i was in cancun, so i only have 800 miles on it. i have yet to floor it because i fermly believe in the 1000 mile break-in, but i have given her some usable boost. just from about 1/2 throttle i notice this car would spank the stealth. the acceleration is brilliantly smooth compared to the twin turbos on the stealth. for those of you who know, on a TT car where the intercooler pipes from each turbo meet up before the throttle body one turbo inevitably will boost faster causing air to rush into the compressor of the other turbo and it causes the car's acceleration to sputter. i dont miss this at all. 3 weeks ago, i ran my demoddifeid to bone stock stealth at a healthy 14.0 @ 98mph. this is faster than the magazines time of 14.2 they posted for the 1st gen TT's with only 300 hp. just from what ive felt with the EVO, im pretty confident i can get somewhere in the 13.5-13.7 territory.

Now, the BIG difference... handling. I've driven a ZO6 before, the evo seems to me to be really closely related to it. ive also driven my dads boxter S before, and this car will do circles around it. the evo is hawever alot stiffer than the stealth, but i like it. im still toying with the car to see what it can do, but i still have yet to find any limits. the interior id the only thing i liked better about my old car, but i dont mind it much. the seats and stearing wheel are more than worth it. in about 600 miles im gana be modifying this thing. my main sponsor wants this car to be "a notch ahead of the rest" so i imagine 11's wont be far fetched by summertime. as you can see by the mods i already have, im well on the way. the stealth was right there when it was modified, but it took ALOT more. il do it on stock turbo, stock ic, stock injectors, but with a built up bottom end and porting/polishing heads with 5 angle valve job. il keep posted with results once i start modding.

The post i was waiting for. Rt the evo is quick for 1/2 throttle, but after that it kind of dies out. At first when i babied the car under 4,000 for the first 300 miles, I could only dream about what 5-6-7,000 were like. Well its kind of dull. I was hoping for a rocket ride all the way upto 7,000. Good luck and how does one get a sponsor?

r/t turbos are heavy at 3800 lbs
I'd rather stick with the Evo than with a 3000gt VR4 or a stealth rt-turbo

more reliability with the evo
