Good overall vehicle + snow trips?
i have a 04 toyota tacoma double cab as my daily driver. i would never give it up, not even for an evo. evo is my fun weekend/track car. on long hauls the evo is not the car of choice, its simply uncomfortable comparatively to most other vehilces available in the market. if i were in your position i would take the tacoma. speed is fun, but the praticality and reliability of a yota is more important to me. throw a lift on the yota and some good tires and its unstoppable.

3 quarts of transmission fluid from Mitsubishi is about $40.00, Mobil one full synthetic oil, two sets of wheels and tires if you don't want to die trying to drive in the snow.
Perfect car for someone into winter sports would be a WRX wagon. Solid roof rack with lots of room inside as well, good power, better gas milage than the EVO with larger fuel tank as well for longer range, cruise control, lower maintenance costs, and lower cost to buy the car itself.
Can you tell my second car is a Scooby WRX wagon?

winter tires. alot of people preached it to me but i didn't care and didn't get any. car stays inside on snowy, wet winter days! i figured it was too late to get em but we just got hit with a snow storm so maybe i will look into it.
