Is there a way to repair the hood shield

The Underhoold louvered shield below the black mesh is cracked in a few places. I was thinking of using some JB weld and repairing the sheild. Has anyone tried this before with success or has used some other repair options?

I just took mine off. I did it like a year and a half ago, and haven't had any problems with it. It's fine even in the rain.

Taking it off is only going to create rust and corosion, especially if you live in the north.

I'm sure you could jb weld it , but if you want to get it at the dealer, it's officially called a HOOD HEAT PROTECTOR PANEL. You can also get these from aftermarket vendors as well.

just buy a nice aftermarket aluminum one. You do not want rain directly pouring onto your exhaust manifold.

I dont think JB Weld would work for very long, too much heat and vibration.

It is too thin a metal subjected to too much vibration to reliably repair. You're better off just buying a new one.

he isn't talking about the heat shield. removing the thin metal piece will hurt nothing. I have had mine offf for 3 months with no probs

Thanks for your responses. Since a package of JB weld is only 5 bucks, I'd figure I'd give it a shot.
Since this is the underside of the shield I didn't care how it looked and spread it on thick. If you wondering this is just a stock shield with high temp engine paint.
