Evo owners!! Check your paint thouroughly.

Guys, inspect the paint on your car thouroughly. Unfortunately, I found minor inperfection/blemishes/dull looking on 4 sides of my Tarmac Black Evo when I washed it over the weekend. The inperfections appears to be behind the clearcoat but on top of the paint. I found it on the roor and the trunk area. I immediately went to Mitsu yesterday where I purchased the car from and sure enough, the car will be going to the Mitsu body shop. They said this stuff is warranted so I'm cool with that. Hopefully, will be dropping her off today and won't see her for 2 days.

I just hope it'll be nice and shiny once it comes out from the body shop.

Wow... Your local Mitsu dealer is pretty cool to warrant the paint job...
Some dealers will take your money and won't even recognize you a week later... "Did you get this car from us?"

Any chance we can get a picture showing what you found? I already have chips in my door panel that look suspicious. I've only had the car on the road for 4 or 5 days. I have not had a chance to wash it yet, but I'll be sure to pour over it the next few weeks.

I'll definitely will try and take some pix before I take it in. It looks really dull and on one side, it almost looked like a toddler putting prints on the paint. I scuffed the heck out of those blemishes but to no avail.

BTW, did you opt for the "extra" clear coat/poly urethane protection thing? The dealer I bought mine at was pushing it pretty good. I don't know if refusing to get that affects the warranty, but I seriously doubt they can deny a claim one week after purchase.

No.. I didn't. They did offer it but I turned it down. I believe there's something printed about paint warranty on the warranty book if I'm not mistaken but it's limited time, very short time compared to the basic 3 year warranty. I had my car for a week and a half now and I don't think you should have a problem too.

Good choice there DB8GSR, your evo is exacty what I want to get. Black, no sunroof, but let me ask also, did you get the big wing or small wing? I'm going to be looking for a used black evo, no sunroof, small wing, maybe in a year or two, when they take a good $6-7k price reduction, (hopefully, eventhough these are rare cars and people will be trying to make money on them).

I heard only 15% of the US evos will be coming with the small wing and I have yet to see one. Anyone have pics or know where I can find pics of the small factory evo wing?

A couple of days ago, a Sales Rep. at the Mitsu Dealer said the small wing was cut completely from production. So, I don't think we will see one. Don't know if this info holds water. Anyone else hear of this?

Well.. here are some pix on the inperfections. Just so you guys have a feel on what I'm talking about.

Dropped the car off yesterday and hopefully to get the car back tomorrow afternoon. Miss the car already.

Not that it's any skin off me, but if you don't see the black line or if you can quote it then it's not part of the sig.

Alright! We're back in business. Got the car back today and I'm quite happy on the outcome although still not too happy as far as the service they gave me for the past few days.

Anyway.. took some pix sometime today.

DB8GSR ,
What exactly did they do to it? Reapply the clearcoat? Detail it? Put a fresh coat of paint?

BTW... Sweet ride man!!!
