Bads of the Evo?

im looking into buying an Evo 9 MR or maybe just Evo and i was wondering have you guys had any problems

Sorry if this is repeatative i didn't mean for it to be.
Responses are apreciated

This is NOT about things that you dont like but more of things that have broken or failed on your cars...

If you can please just list some things that have broken or failed on YOUR car and how much do you think you pay for mantenance a year... that would be great

Clutch....stock clutch isnt that strong. If you dont plan on modding, and are easy with it (not launching hard, grinding etc.) it'll last you a little while.

i blew an engine and turbo at 3000 miles due to a factory defect. I have put on 27000 miles on the new engine and no problems besides little stuff but i have a feeling its due to the monkeys that put my new engine together like reusing gaskets and washers.

well just like i said little stuff, the exhaust manifold gaskets were leaking, which i suspect they just reused them when they put the new engine in, and the crush washer on the oil cooler was ****ed so i also assume when they disconnected it they didn't replace 6 dollars worth of washers, and mitsu wonders why people are wary of there vehicles. Other then that I drive my car usually pretty hard, i have 310whp and 315wtq. I do all my services on time and always let the engine warm up and cool down properly so far i haven't had any major problems since the first one.

the stock ic hose clamps are junk, as well as those radiator hose clips

I hate the stock hoses and clamps. Hard piping is a must IMO. I replaced my stock clutch too. They are good clutches, but I bought my car used and the previous owner beat it up. SO by the time I got it, it started to slip. Other than the clutch, piping, and my damned fading CF wing, I love the car to death. My dealership here is covering the wing under warranty though.

If you dont drag race otherwise expect the clutch to last roughtly 35-40 maybe.

Besides maintenance the only thing that really sucks up all your money is all the aftermarket stuff you can get. The car quickly becomes a money pit if your not careful.
