I then stand there and watch as the lady flings her door open right into my car hard enough that I can actually hear it hit from the entrance. She gets out, actually looks at my car and rubs it trying to get the mark out. I walk back to my car passing her by and find a big *** dent in my brand new car. I was so steamed I stood there and waited for her to come back out at which point she lied to my face and claimed it wasn't her. If it had been a guy, I think I would have decked him.

The only advice I can offer is to not sweat the small stuff. There are so many morons out there, it is a given that eventually your car will get dinged up.
did you make her pay?

Your cuz needs to learn how to put some type of discipline in her son. That's so disrespectful, and at 8yrs old he should know better than to AIM! Hell, my son would NEVER do something like that and he's just turning 7yrs old! My son would def hear it if he did that to my cousin's car.

Good luck man. Talk to the girl...kids will be kids? WoW!

Unbelievable

I can feel this mans pain, as we all work hard for what we have. To have something like that happen to a brand new car (evo at that) is just terrible. That kid needs to be taught a lesson. Reasons why I drive a beater every-day and take the Evo out on the weekends.

Hell, I was at a carshow a couple weeks ago and my friends daughter (lil' girl is 7yrs old) was jumping up and down next to my car and kicking up rocks. I heard a rock bounce off my car, and I told her straight up to STOP JUMPING w/a straight face and a nice tone to put some scare in her, then I told her mother to tell her daughter to play away from the cars in a non joking way too, she knew I was serious.

She listened and the girl never did it again the rest of the day. I didn't even see her near my car again. lol! I was pissed though. So I only imagine how this guy feels. Kids DO NEED discipline though...especially these days.

IDK, steal the kids PS2 or his favorite toys, go after yoru cousin and demand punishment and repayment. There is NO excuse, if not, the BEST revenge I can think of is put the kids bike under the mothers car, so when she runs it over she can give that kid the same excuse.

I am overly **** about this type of stuff. My last car (98 Talon TSi), I bought from a dealer 6 hours away...I called and made the salesman go over the car 3 different times to check for blemishes. I got there, sure enough there were a few...I ended up getting it (obviously), and noticed several more after the 1st washing. I also have a 2 year old son, and I never let him around the EVO without me being there. I'm always right on top of him, arms prepared to stop wreckless damage. When we take the EVO on trips, he gets a huge blanket under his car seat in the back and he has to take his shoes off. Let's open up the lessons learned database:

1. Keep your car garaged at all times if possible.
2. Always park in the following areas:
a) furthest away from the people that look for quick parking places (they are in a hurry and can't be trusted to be careful. Lazy thoughtless people often park as close to the store as possible;
b) next to a curb/island parking place - and hug that curb side (gives plenty of space for a 70s oldsmobuick to open its tank doors wide and still not hit your car - and prevents one side of your car from any door ding damage);
c) this ones tricky, park next to a shopping cart return. The people that don't return carts to this area can't be trusted. If your next to it, chances are, someone will take 5 seconds to place the cart in the bin correctly. This can't be said if your a 10 second walk or more away
from said bin.

NEW) don't trust kids from family members around your EVO. If they damage it, it will be hard to get restitution.

I've tried to teach my wife these things...she does pretty good, but I did notice a small ding in her Mazda passenger door (I was pissed).

Sorry about your ding. Chances are, a professional dent remover can get it out. My buddy bought an M3 with a huge tennis ball size dent in the hood. $100 and you can't even tell. Ask your dealer who they use, or open up the yellow pages.
