hey guys, this might be in the wrong thread, but enough people have this problem for me to post about it in evo general.. so i own an 04 evo VIII and had the transfer case go bad. so i bought a brand new one from shepracing and it fixed the problem. After the install, gruppe-s engineering in california tore about the t-case and found that the rod and pinion gear are still in tact! (if i'm not mistaken, the rod and pinion are the essential parts of the tcase and breaking one of those two things is THE REASON why most ppl need to buy a whole new tcase.. i may be wrong so please let me know if i am) anyway, i THINK, all that needs to be done is the replacment . I think any shop of reputation can do the swap with a 1.5 way diff or somethign that wont break.. if anyone is interested please let me know..

btw, i think this will save the cost of buying a whole new tcase for 2600$ just pay for the diff and the rebuild
