And beside an Evo is really cheap to mod with less than $4000 u can run 11's with the 9.
Im sorry I have and love the evo but im poor having an exotic is totally different than having a 30k car. Whether or not it runs in the 11s. Lets see an evo do 200mph stock and not blow up.

well it s fun to have 30k that can spank a $100k+
But it s also true that an exotic is an exotic, and an evo is just a 30k car
either way, the evo is a great car, i have driven many performance cars and the evo performances wise is right there with the best of them.
and the 200mph part u mentioned, the evo is not even made for that, if i wanted a car that goes 200mph i would have bought a new z06 or something.
Personally evo's are still in the beginning stages of mods being developed. Sure they make alot of parts for them but think how many more there will be in a few years. I'll just wait till someone come sout with some sort of kit where you can put a mivec head on a evo VIII. It will bolt right up but i'm sure it's gonna require more wiring and a new ecu.
Dude all this obsession with the IX vs VIII. If in the states we had been getting EVOs since the EVO 1 I would be driving a V or a VI or maybe even a VII. From what I see in the UK forum and on autotrader UK I would be able to pick up a Older EVO for fraction of the price compared to what we are paying for the VIIIs and IXs. I don't have to have the latest greatest, NEW does not = COOL.

bugs what bugs? my evo 9 is faster than my 8 ever was with less mod.
Mivec and vtec are totaly different, the variable valve timing mitsubishi is using is similar technology u see in BMW's, porsches, mk4 toyota supras', nissan skyline gtr etc. and all those cars are great stock, and even better modified.

hell......your right newest doesn't = cool......but i feel as though some of you viii owners are just hating on us ix owners~ just stomach the fact that stock for stock the ix is better than the viii, save some money and go out and mod your viii~ gosh!!!!!!! crys babies
