2nd gear grind on all evos?

Well lately I have been crusing and if im getting on it and go to throw it into 2nd from first just a normal shift it always grinds and doesnt let me in I thought it was just me sucking or something but no, my friend has a evo8 and we were crusing and just I was like hey lets see which ones faster stock we both get on it and throw it into second and both grind.

Does anyone else have the 2nd gear grind and high rpms? its really annoying I bought my car with my own money and I want to make sure its all good to go no problems.

Thanks.

Mine grinds in 2nd everytime, no matter what rpm. The tranny fluid will help, but it's definately not a permanent fix. You have a IX man, take it back.

I have never had 2nd gear grinds but I've always gotten 3rd gear grinds and occasionally the 5th gear grind.

Fluid is not a "permanent fix"? yeah i know, it wears out and you have to replace it, but if it works (which it did for me) it's a permanent fix because it doesn't happen anymore...just keep new-ish fluid in, and change it more if you track it...goodbye...

2nd gear is a problem for me as well.....especially when cold. I have an 03 with 54K on it. All other gears are great, just 2nd grinds a little when going it. Sometimes, maybe 1 out of 5, it will go in gear fine. But most times it give a little grind going into gear. This will happen at 3,000rpm as well.

I am due for another fluid change so hopefully that will help some.

I dont know if its the fluid or not but I've been using BG syncroshift on my 03 tranny and in the two years I've had it, it only grinded twice from first to second. Those two times I wasn't even on it but driving normally. The thousands of other times shifting from first to second were fine through any RPM. The noise I got sounded like a duck call and it wouldnt go into second.

Mine happens usually when Im getting on it and hit redline then shift but it only does it in 2nd when i got from 2-3rd its fine only 2nd gear

You think it could be the clutch not like being able to hold the power?
