Do Evo's have a 'black box'

My father in law was asking me if my car has one of those black boxes in it so the cops and such know how fast you have gone ect.. I told him I didn't think so but I have heard about the newer cars having them.

No black box my friend. We would have all taken them out or bypassed them by now.

it's usually atatched to the airbag module, in the event of an accident the box records the last few seconds before the impact and it can then be reviewed by anyone who cares.

My vette C5 Vette had one.

offcourse it has one! and every time you go pass the speedlimit, it will press charges, give you the mark on your drivers licence and withdraw the fine from your bankaccount. Then later it will hit on you girlfriend. story of my life...

In the Corvette the computer has a 15 second memory it keeps cycling but as sson as the airbags deploy it saves all the parameters..... Engine speed, Throttle, MPH, outside temp, and if the ABS was active.

Believe it or not it's true...

But in the vette it was yellow

Yea I've talked to some people that have blown up engines and tried to go to a dealer to get them replaced under warranty but the dealer scanned their ECU's and wouldn't replace the engines cuz it said they were bouncin off rev-limiter, and redlining...
