Just got the dealer to replace my "water spotted" rear wing on my VIII with a wing from the IX. Same fit, same wing. I kinda prefer the older wing as it "showed" more CF in the corners but it looks good nonetheless. It wasn't really a problem to have it replaced, just took a long time for them to get it in.

Just FYI: The VIII wing is all carbon Fiber whereas the IX wing only has a CF mid section.

Aren't the IX's hollow? I remember hearing about driver's wings (more or less) "exploding" at high speeds.

 

I do prefer the 8 wing because its full carbon fiber and it seems like its more rigid.

 

can you request the evo VIII?

I have to go pretty soon to get it replaced and I want my original one

 

Well, in structural engineering, sometimes being hollow may make a object stronger.

But I'm not sure about the evo IX wing. It hasn't flexed on me yet..

Just visited my dealer about mine which was ordered in Jan. Still backordered till end of Mar or Apr. He also offered a IX wing which I passed up.
