more that likely if you vta then your car will run crapy, you are dumping air that the maf has already taken acount for, the ecu is dumping fuel for the amount of air it reads and it there isnt as much air coming in then you are more that likely going to run rich, which means bogging at low rpms

unless your running a stand alone that more than likely doesnt use the maf (32 psi daily)

Hey Warr... taka a Midol. Should help...
Terrible advice. Not to mention it needs to be bolted up to a UICP that he doesn't have.

A Midol would help with what? People not asking awful questions and people not giving terrible answers? I'll have to look into Midol stuff - sounds like a miracle drug.

It wasn't by any means advice. It's already been pointed out in this thread it's not a good idea. The kid asked a question and I answered it without being a *****.

Warrtalon means well dude. Don't get your feeling hurt. He's a very no-nonsense no BS kind of guy. I would listen to what he says. I would also agree with him in that the last thing you need to be thinking about upgrading on your brand new IX is your BOV. You will find that "most" on this forum are not really into the "Joe Ricer" WWOOSSHHHHH BOV's and fart cans you get with the civic world. Most guys here are into performance first, looks later. So if you plan on sticking around, better grow thick skin.

Bro my best advice is if you want to know an answer. Don't ask anyone here, most people here don't really help, all they say is "o why VTA, it serves no function, bla bla bla bla. Dude it want to VTA go for it. I would agreed on one thing, your BOV is alreay good, it you want a good BOV to get the sound, then there are many. Adjustable BOV would be my recommendation. Prices vary and its like they say, you get what you pay for. Hope this helps

Look, if there is one thing you will learn from this thread, it's this: Whatever Warrtalon says goes, trust me on this one. I have seen many cases where he (warr) offers his advice and some don't take it only to come back pissing and moaning. You have a new car (very nice), the very first thing i wanted to do when i got mine is change the BOV as well. Well i just didn't have the money to invest in that and ended up doing little things like intake, mbc, and a boost gauge. My friend, on the other hand, got a blitz bov so he could make the WOOSH sound. His idle SUCKED A$$ and he had to reboost in every gear. <--- your stock BOV recirculates that air back into your intake so that you don't have to suck more air to respool your turbo every gear. Tell you what, after i got my intake (AEM short Ram) you could hear even the stock BOV really nice, and it wasn't too loud either. Listen, if you choose to believe one person on here, let it be Warrtalon, from experience i know he knows his **** and is one of the more knowledgable on this site, he may sound a little mean, but he tells you the truth. Take his advice, TRUST ME!!!!!!! Oh, btw, go get that intake and see how nice your stock bov sounds hehe.

yeah i am running the same intake with no tune, i just dont get on it hard. i dont think a flash is worth it because everytime you add mods you have to pay to get it reflashed, got cams and a fuel pump on there way shortly and then im investing in a stand alone because i am really interested in tuning myself. i personally dont think the car is worse off but others disagree. itll be never ending until we see a dyno of no intake and then intake, and no intake and then just a filter.

Now give me a B * U * S * C * H * U * R What's that spell BUSCHUR

Just like Warralton is trying to explain.. You don't NEED one until the stocker starts leaking -- OR unless you want a "cool" sound (VTA).

the BOV your talking about is a 1G with a flange so it wouldnt fit your car anyway without the uip flanged for it. btw its an excellent bov when crushed. i use it on my 06BR350#005. idles smooth as glass, holds the boost i,m running and no comp. surge or fluttering. stick with what you have its an excellent bov
