Why would I PM you to race you? I've raced my Evo hundreds of times in many different venues and 3 types of racing in the 1.5 years I've owned it. I haven't seen you do anything other than talk about how your intake will make you faster because you THINK it helps. I've set all my times and won all my races with the stock airbox...

The tune is meant to equalize the AFR's and timing to not just get you more power but to make the engine run safely so that you dont destroy it with lean mixtures and detonation.

That being said...I can see your justification of why you like your parts but you need to get a fuller understanding of these vehicles and what you are doing to it. This Evo was my first turbo car (not my first tuner car) and the leaps and bounds that I have made in the 1.5 years that I have been on this site are amazing as far as my understanding of vehicles and tuning. And I am still an amatuer at best.

Search and learn and get with the program or get flamed everytime you ask a dumb question.
+1 dude, very nicely said.

Edit: we should call this guy Vin from now on..

What organization have you been racing in???????

Why are you a TRUE RACER????

I bet you've only street raced and on this site, that doesn't count.

As a long time lurker on EvoM, I can honestly say that your attitude is getting unbearable. You may not agree with what he bought, or why he bought it but that doesn't put you in a position to judge whether or not his purchase was "worth it." If he's pleased with his part, even based solely on how it looks and sounds, good for him.

You belittle people on this forum without justification and your arrogance and snide comments bring down the forum as a whole. You may not agree with something/someone but that doesn't automatically make you better.
Just because you disagree with what someone has done and why they did it doesn't mean you have to bring them down. Just because you have a thought doesn't mean you ALWAYS have to express it in your posts...sometimes you can just keep a lid on it.

+1, jrotaryb. I've noticed that, too, and I've been here only a few weeks. I particularly enjoyed this post:

Lovely, a good example. He doesn't agree with someone so that person is automatically wrong. Warrtalon goes even further to suggest perhaps this guy shouldn't be driving an Evo...because he doesn't fit Warrtalon's description of a proper Evo owner. Superiority complex anyone? I hate to get so off topic, but it's comments like this that just detract from what the forum is supposed to be about.

Curious does anyone dyno have charts with and without the Injen and tuned and untuned just to see the power curve. At what rpm may it gain or lose etc...

+2. Well said indeed.

This is also my first turbocharged car (not my first tuner car) and the importants of tuning is very critical on an automobile such as this. Every time the smallest part is added, the AFR is affected and the car will not run properly and even more importantly... run safely. I think this is really what tuning is all about. It's not about only "big power," it's about safety and reliability no matter what your power level (may it be 240whp or 450whp.)

If you want to stay relatively stock "evo_racer"... that's fine. Nothing wrong with that. But make sure the modifications you add to the vehicle does not affect it's safety and reliability. You've spent a great deal of money to acquire this vehicle. The Evo is an awesome machine... you should therefore want to take great care in maintaining your investment. You don't want to damage what you've worked very hard to get.
