Rock chips
Rock chips
Hey Guys, I just finsiehd my first wash of my evo and I find two rather large rock chips on the hood of the car
. Now the paint has completely been chipped off, the bigger one is about the size of 1/4 of a dime and the other one is about 1/8 of a dime. Now, My question is that Can I get dealer to fix this or am I just have to bend over and take it? I did purchase Mitsu's extended warranty and their ' touch of class' service which includes a limited exterior service. Any throughts?

I was looking at the botom of my front spoiler the other day to see if it has been scuffed up from parking to close to end curbs. I noticed one of my fins on my intercooler was really bent up from a rock passing throw the mesh.
Anyone else notice this on there's? Will this effect the intercooler at all?

I know I'll have a slim shot at making the dealer fix it, but it's just WORNG it have rock chips on a TWO WEEK old car! I'll need to get the front cover as soon as its here. I'll set up an oppointment with the dealer and I hope they'll fix it. Cuz I seriously doubt the car will make though another new england winter bear chested
. It's still snowing here, its April damn it!!!!!!

The paint sucks
My car looks perfect until i got 1 chip on passenger side and 2 chips on driver side doors. They are about the size this like this peiord "."
The point is that the car is new. I can tell the pait is crap. I had a half of a dime shape chip on my bimmer and under the paint there is another coat of black paint. Mitsubishi really needs to out source paint from dupoint or something dunno:

I've observed that the area most prone to rock chips is the fender strip between the rear passenger doors and the rear wheel wells...particularly towards the bottom area (near the side skirt)...I already have several small chips due to the abundance of gravel on the streets in the NoVa area.
I plan to do the 3M ClearGuard to the front hood, and ask the installer to do a custom application for the area I mentioned....should be able to do it using left-over material.
BTW, check out David at California Tint (McLean, VA)...seems like he's the only one who does professional installation of clearguard in the immediate area.
Cheers,
Leonardo
