Angry Flat! new Advan. Thx PepBoys

I went to Pep Boys on Sunday to purchase some cleaning products to wash the car. As I pulled in, I saw 4 empty parking spots. Of course I chose to park here to avoid any possible door hitting, etc. What I didn't think about at the time was the full trashcan sitting near the parking spot. Now, many of you know that often people will work on their cars in these lots after buying something. Sure enough, when I got home and started cleaning my rims there were 2 screws embedded in my right-rear tire!

Took the tire into America's Tire Co. the next morning (have to go to work!) and they said the larger of the holes was too close to the sidewall to patch (it was). So new Advan + disposal fee + labor + tax + warranty for tire = $320. Damn...

Lesson:

Watch out for junk in auto part/supply store parking lots!

you were better off buying a brand new one. Mitsu dealership usually keeps them on the shelf, and they are 157.00 per tire at the dealership by me. i think he then said 20/tire for mounting and balancing. tough break!

It was the pepboys on Sepulveda in Torrance, CA. But it wasn't really pepboys fault, per say. It was the people who are too ghetto to work on their ish at home. I guess pepboys could crack down on it...

But yeah, I bought a brand new Advan...

157/tire? really? I found them for 244/tire on tirerack. looks like I need to hit up the dealer then.
