searched, found.. and no luck. (headlights)
i've searched for "headlight adjustment" and browsed through the main threads including the how-to from n00dle but no such luck. the major threads on headlight adjusting are VERY vague and really frustrating. ok, so here's the breakdown:
I have a set of JDM 8 MR headlights with the cutoff facing incoming traffic (i'm pretty sure all jdm headlights are made this way) and i want to adjust the height level of the HID's (NOT the foglights and NOT the highbeams). WHAT tools are required to turn WHICH gears for just the hid beam? does ANYONE have clear pictures displaying where the gear for the HID's are? (a picture of the tool being used for the hid adjustment would be great)
please DONT tell me to "search" for this topic because im sick of browsing through the threads and not coming up with any answer. ANY help is appreciated. thanks.

in that thread mentioned above, there was a bolt (10mm) that you turned and all the lights would adjust. when i tried to adjust mine, all the lights but the low beams (HIDS) would move because the gearing on the HID adjustment was made of plastic and was stripped. i took the whole light out and looked to see if I could figure something out. there is a metal cable that runs from the HIDS to the bottom of the adjustment gears. what i did was took the whole headlight assembly out, unscrewed the 2 or 3 screws that held the cable in place, put the light back in, adjusted the HIDS by twisting the gear on the end of that cable to where I wanted them, took the light back out to put the cable back where I got it from, then finally put the light back in again. it was a real PITA but in the end my HIDS are where I want them. hope this helps a little.
I finally got my headlights fixed and raised. It was a complete b****, but it was worth it. Those pics that n00dle posted are correct. Yes it shows the 10mm on the highbeam, and that is what you need to adjust. You can either use a phillips head, but make sure its a BIG one, or the 10mm socket.
I tried using the phillips head (medium size) and the gears started stripping. In the end, i used the 10mm and it worked fine. The drivers side 10mm started stipping, so i had to use the phillips AND 10mm socket at the same time with a friend.
But yeah, the pics n00dle posted are correct. The pics with the metal plates and what not are incorrect. I, too, have those metal plates, but that doesnt adjust the low-beams. The high beam bolt/plastic gears are pretty easy to see. Hope this helps. I dont have a camera on me to take pics, i'll try to post some later.
BTW, you can adjust them with the lights on which helps a lot. I have an 05 with the SSL and electronic lifter for HIDs. So yea, you have to adjust the high-beam bolt. It's the bolt with the plastic gears running under it, it's pretty easy to spot. Also, rotate clock-wise when you are facing the front of the car and your **** sticking out the front of the car. Also, if you are going to use the phillips head, MAKE SURE YOU TWIST AS FAR AS YOU CAN PER TURN or twist until it clicks, or else itll go back to its original state and start stripping. Start with the phillips head until it starts stripping the gears, if it does strip, then use the 10mm bolt. Hope this helps and good luck
