evo pistons

is there anyone out there that knows where I can get 10:0:1 pistons? I am trying to built a 2.0L with higher compression to help the turbo spool. I was wondering if anyone has ever had a setup like that?

Call Buschur or AMS, I am sure they can get ahold of them.

do you guys think getting that type of pistons on 2.3 L stroker will make a big difference on spooling a big turbo gt42r

I wouldn't run that kind of compression, with boost. Bad things will happen, even if you run stock boost, I proly wouldn't go over 10 psi or 12 at the most with compression that high.

I have never really heard of anyone with 10 to 1 compression with anything over 12 psi as a daily driver, the ring lands will blow out, or the piston would melt.

10:1 compression on a turbo engine is dumb. It will have a really small tuning window, and if you run a little lean, you will crack your nice shiny forged pistons or snap a rod or two. I don't think anyone has ever even sleeved a 4G63 before either (the block is cast iron already).

mate have a look on www.mitsubishilancerregister.co.uk! there ar a few rally guys on there runn ing more than that boost and higher comp!!!

dont worry about it! run the right components and tune, with water injection and race gas and you will be fine!

hell the rally bosy have been doing it for years! lol

it can be done for sure....and it lets you get away with lower boost. Now on the flipside, how much benefit it affords you vs the far more common 9:1 setup is different altogether.

Just make sure you have your cams fully spec'd out before ordering pistons, or it could be a costly mistake later on

Yeah sure if you want to have to constantly run race gas and or water/alcohol injection, you can run 10:1 or 11:1 compression. The tune will have to be dead on for the engine to survive for very long. Like I said, 10:1 compression ratio is stupid, especially for a street car. If this is going to be an all out rally/race car, then maybe you will want to look into it.
