Any 2005 Evo owner looking to trade-in their car??

I've been wondering this, because I've been looking for an 05 (non RS)SSL, preferably. I know that many dealers will let you take in your car with the prospective buyer and have the paperwork go through them. I'm not 100% sure how it all works but, the prospective trade buyer buys through the dealership at a price the original owner and prospective buyer agreed on and the the seller can get the new car from the dealer. It allows them to sell you a new car and since they aren't paying you for the trade, or they don't lose any investement in trying to sell the trade in, they are often willing to do this. It's probably hard to make sense of it. Here's my deal:
I got a loan for a car but I can only go through franshise dealers. The cars that I want and I can afford are private sellers, dealers are just out of my price range. So, if someone was looking to trade in an 05 and willing to help me out I can make an offer but only in this complicated manner. I'm just dying to own an 05 Evo and this seems to be the only way I can. You can reply here, email me ( gabe_120@yahoo.com ), or PM me.

I'm open to any other suggestion on how I can get to be an owner of this incredible vehicle. Any help would be appreciated.

Just get another loan that doesn't require you to buy from a dealer. How hard is that

go to www.capitalone.com, I believe they give you a blank check, you buy what you want.

I've exercised a number of options and with my credit it seems to be very difficult. I found Lending Tree beat my credit union by 5% and no place I tried will let me go to a private seller or non franshise dealership. I don't want to hurt my credit score anymore by having my credit run any more times and with the loan I found, I'm comfortable with the monthly payements, length, and intrest rate.

Are you talking about a consignment through a dealer? Just go through Capitol One Auto Finance. Once Capitol One aproves you they give you a credit line and a blank check good for 90 days. Then just buy the car you want from anyone you want.

I did get approved by CapitalOne, they gave be the best interest and terms, but they will only allow me to go through a franshice dealership or certain approved private dealers or auto brokers(don't know much about that). I didn't qualify for person to person with my blank check.

I have been trying to build my credit score back up. My (wife and I) debt to income ratio is pretty good but we had some trouble in the past. I can afford the evo but don't think I can get financed just yet due to my score. I thought about trying later this year to get a IX in the fall as my credit continues to improve. However, I would prefer to get one sooner since they are getting harder to come by in the next couple of months if these online lenders are easier to get financed through. Are these online financial services such as e-loan, lending tree, and capital one easier to get financed through or just simply convenient for people with great credit? Would they finance the full amount on a new Evo or are they more for used car loans?

I went through lending tree with bad credit and got 9.9 percent ( high for now but refinancably later) they beat my credit union offer significantly. I would recommend them.

Sounds like my situation... using lending tree were you able to get approved easily with bad credit? Most places won't touch you if you have bad credit. If so I could live with that type of apr for now!

If you have poor credit and are having to finance basically the entire purchase price of the car, frankly you can't afford the car. Get your finances straightened out and then buy a car later.

Don't fall into the "but this is the only car I want and this is the last year" trap. That is the same mentality that got you your poor credit to begin with. You can always buy a used one later for much less or there will always be some other new car out that will appeal to you.

I highly doubt that I would ever(esp. after seeing the new concepts) like anything else for a very long while. I would like to own the car first-not a beat up used questionable Evo. Also I had good credit for a while til I hit a bad spot for about 3 months and am just recovering my score which is now up to around 595. That was not "the mentality" that got me in trouble"-I'm 28 and know how to handle things financially. If worse comes to worse though I will just have to buy used.
