Hey guys, well I went to a car meet last saturday and all was good until I left. I get on the highway and punch my car and the boost tries to jump through the roof. So I ease off do it again and the same thing happens. I rip the car apart Sunday check the lines on the IC, BOV and MBC. I even took the MBC apart and all seems good. Then my Service Engine Soon light comes on so I go get the code ran and its a P0401 Code (EGR). So I obviously need to replace that sensor but could that have caused my boost problem? What should I do?

 

I highly doubt you need to change that sensor. There is a vacuum line that has probably fallen off. If you reach under and behind your throttle body for a while, you'll feel a line that will be loose. This line actually starts as 2 lines, then come to one as it connects to the EGR. This will not effect boost or performance. Sorry if my description is a little shady, I'm still half sleeping.

 

I'll check that line later when i'm awake. What do you think could be causing my boost issue? It's supposed to hold at 21-22PSI where I have it set but now it want's to just keep going up.

 

Well I went outside to look for those lines and as I was looking I saw 2 lines running side by side but one line looks like it has been cut. Also, as I was feeling the other line down toward where it connects, it feels like it has something built up in it. Finally right under the Upper IC pipe on the side of the throttle body their is a plug and something else right beside it which looks like it should have a hose attached to it but their isn't. Please help. all imput is welcome.
