Has Mitsu improved their paint since '03?
One thing i miss about my old Audi A4 was the paint. The thing was bulletproof. I drove it for 4 years and only had one little chip on the hood and that was from a HUGE rock i saw flying off the back of a big-rig. I think a lot of the issue is due to the lack of lead in paint these days, and the amount of paint mitsu uses. The paint on my car looks really thin.
I think we're blessed here in Kalifornia since we don't get much rain/snow and our roads aren't salted, etc.
Only times where i experience those conditions are on ski trips to Mammoth or Utah. And then i try to stay back from vehicles in front of me.

I asked a question - Has anyone noticed if the paint quality has gotten any better? So far I have received a lot of informative comments, and yours has been the only worthless one.
Isn't that what forums are for? Questions? Your reply offers no intelligence, no information, and isn't worth the electricity it cost to transmit it.
If you don't understand the question, your best bet is to probably not reply, otherwise you come off sounding like a moron. (Like you did. Twice now).

I had a BBY 03, got a clear bra from Tint Specialist in SLC. They use the Avery Stoneshield. Very nice. Don't wax near the line though, because the it is hard to get the wax off the line if you do it. I bought a RR 06 a month ago, got a clear bra on it 4 days after from the same place. Cost 400 plus tax. Definetly worth it. That is the best way to go. I had an 02 Sonic Blue SVT Focus, with 50k miles, it had tons of rock chips from driving on I-80 from Tooele to SLC. My Mustang Cobra I had before my Evo, same thing. The clear bra is the only realistic way to protect the front end paint.
Anyone in SLC, Tint Specialist is the best. I would highly recommend them for a clear bra.

Check out the Venture shield web site:

I highly recommend this product over the 3M film. It has a ten year warranty vs. f years for the 3M product. It is high grade acrylic with a mild watersoluble adhesive. It doesn't fade or yellow. It allows 100% of UV penetration to the underlying paint so when it is removed the paint underneath is identical to the unwrapped paint. It is easily removed without damage to your paint.
Don't even think about the Avery film. It is made for covering signage not cars. And don't even think about DIY. I watched two highly experienced guys work on my SLK for 4 hours steady to get my car wrapped. There is a great post on one of the other forums by the Premier Mobile guys that explains the material in great detail. Go with them if you can or search the invisiblepatterns website for other VentureShield installers....

do not knock my credibility. I've detailed cars for for a living for quite some time and have seen plenty of clear bras on cars.... so I am armed with facts, moron. I have removed the stuff from many cars and have seen how bad the paint looks once removed. Of course any installer and/or the manufacturer will tell you everything you want to hear because they want to sell you the product. There is an adhesive between the material and your paint... the glue over time will bond really well with your clear coat. I'm just passing on my experiences/knowledge with the stuff. hopefully this will help you make the right choice, but it's your car and you're the one left paying to repair the damage done by the clear bra.
I certainly wouldn't want to knock anyone's credibility, but I watched the film guy do a car at my dealer and there's nothing under the film but plain water.
All films have some type of adhesive to stick on the vehicle. You use mostly water with just a little soap in it to set the film into place.
Learn how to properly paint or apply touch up paint. The paint appears "lumpy" after applied because you supposed to wet sand it down to the correct level and smoothness. Better yet, buy an air compressor, and a quality paint gun. Go to www.paintscratch.com and buy there primer/basecoat/clearcoat system for the color you have and go at it. Just wet sand (with a very fine grit) after every coat and it should look perfect.
