There is nothing wrong with changing it at 500 miles, other than the potential for wasting money. Every engine is slightly different, so you can never truly tell without professional equipment. I did mine at 500 and again at 3500. I'll do it again at 6500, then every 3000 after that.

Changing your oil is a cheap, easy way to maintain the engine. So what do you have to lose (besides cash )?

I dont' have to do anything special to flush out the metal shavings correct?

Just let the oil drain out, and then pour new oil in?

You should also change the oil filter and crush washer on the drain plug.

How often does the oil filter need to be replaced? Everytime I do an oil change?

and how often should I change the crush washer? everytime i remove it from the drain plug?

Fram filters are really cheap quality. (Google "fram sucks.") Go OEM or quality aftermarket.

If you want it to be a special oil change and go the whole 9 yards then you got to disconnect the crank angle sensor and crank the engine a couple of times with the drain plug off to completly take out the old oil out of the turbo.

Filters and crush washers need to be replaced every time you change your oil.
