Will prices still be jacked up by the end of August?

Yeah the turbo, I'm guessing thats what his father had. I don't know how many of the turbo MK4's came over, but not enough to make it a car that appreciates regularly.
The Evo's won't either, at least not our USDM ones.

just tell them that someone else quoted you 1,000 off msrp for a new MR and if they can do the same deal you will buy from them because they are so close to your area , see if they bite on that i bet they will

morreale.....go to southcoast mitsu..cheapest price for a new IX. You wont regret it. I have a few friends that went from mustang, t/a, or camaro to an evo and they havent looked backed. The most common complaint was missing being able to do all those burnouts....but look at it this way...saves you money on tires

At this point, no dealer in their right mind should be asking for anything more than invoice on an EVO. If they are walk out and just wait a few months. That same car will be on the lot when you go back and they will be more than willing to talk.
There are MR's here in GA that have sat on lots for 6 months or more. They recently started selling the ones they have because they are finally ready to deal on them.

$38,000 in 1994 dollars = about $52,000 in 2006 dollars.
So even if the nominal value of the car is $45000 in 2006 dollars, as you claim, the actual value of the car still represents a loss. In other words, a new car, Lancer Evolution included, is never a good investment, unless you are talking about some superexotic like a Ferrari Ezno.
